Jagmeet Singh Brar, Charanjit Singh Brar, Ripujit Singh Brar, Onkar Singh join BJP
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday said that Punjab’s condition has deteriorated further under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, even worse than during the Congress regime. He stated that Punjab has fallen significantly behind in law and order, development, and public welfare, creating a growing sense of insecurity among citizens.
Addressing a press conference at the Punjab BJP State Office in Chandigarh, Saini welcomed several senior leaders who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in his presence, along with Punjab BJP leaders Sunil Jakhar and Ashwani Sharma.

Those who joined the BJP include former Member of Parliament Jagmeet Singh Brar, former Kotkapura MLA Ripujit Singh Brar, senior Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjeet) leader Charanjit Singh Brar, former OSD to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Onkar Singh, farmer leader Pritpal Singh—known for providing free diesel to farmers during the farmers’ movement—Kulwant Singh, who contested the Lok Sabha elections from Faridkot on a Lok Bhalai Party ticket, Sardar Jaskaran Singh, Mehat President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), and several other leaders.
Saini said that the sense of fear prevalent in Punjab since 2014 continues unabated even today, with no meaningful improvement under the AAP government. He alleged that law and order has completely collapsed and asserted that only the BJP can restore peace, stability, and confidence in Punjab.
Highlighting Haryana’s development model, the Haryana Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government is delivering rapid development. He noted that thousands of crores of rupees are being invested in healthcare, including free treatment for kidney patients, benefiting large sections of society.
On agriculture, Saini said the Haryana government is providing Minimum Support Price (MSP) on all crops and vegetables, along with per-acre incentives to farmers for avoiding stubble burning, offering a sustainable and farmer-friendly model.
Punjab’s People Concerned About Security and Future, Looking Towards BJP: Sunil Jakhar
Punjab BJP State President Sunil Jakhar, while welcoming the leaders joining the party, said that every section of society in Punjab today—youth, farmers, traders, industrialists and professionals—is deeply concerned about security, governance and the future of the state.

He said there is widespread dissatisfaction over the deteriorating law and order situation, economic slowdown and lack of decisive leadership.
He added that the people of Punjab are now looking for strong and stable leadership with a clear vision, firm administrative control and long-term planning, instead of political experiments.
Jakhar asserted that the public believes the Bharatiya Janata Party is the only political force capable of restoring confidence, ensuring security and putting Punjab back on the path of development.
He further said that the growing support for the BJP reflects the people’s desire for transparent governance, accountability and alignment with national development policies, adding that Punjab can no longer afford uncertainty and weak administration. ![]()
